I thought it would be helpful to compose a list of frequently asked questions on my blog. If I haven’t answered anything                                                     here, please pop me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

*

Yes, in order to secure your wedding date you will be required to pay a deposit. This is a non refundable. You will receive a contract from me outlining payment details and the agreement of services for your day.

Do you offer hair styling?

*

Although trained in hair, I no longer offer hair services to my brides. This is because I prefer to work alongside a hairstylist so that we can be more efficient in ensuring everyone is ready on time by working on 2 people between us. For the bride, the biggest benefit of having both a hairstylist and a makeup artist on your big day is that you won’t have to be up as early !

Do I need a trial?

*

I have a whole separate blog post on everything trial related which you can read by clicking HERE.

Do you bring an assistant for large bridal parties?

*

Yes, however this is very much dependent on the ceremony time. For a late 3pm ceremony, I could comfortably work on 11-12 people however for a 1pm ceremony an assistant would be necessary. If you’re interested or think you may need an assistant on your wedding date, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can accommodate this.

Do you offer touch ups or makeup changes throughout the day?

*

Touch ups and makeup changes are available but not included in the prices. Please enquire for half and full day rates if you’re interested in evening makeup changes or touch ups.

How long will you stay in the morning?

*

I will stay with you until you are in your dress, with your makeup touched up and ready for me to leave. My role is not only to make you feel and look amazing but to also ensure the morning runs smoothly.

Do you only use Airbrush Makeup?

*

I generally use Airbrush makeup for weddings for its photographic and long wear benefits. Airbrush makeup is HD; designed for camera as well as being waterproof. However If I feel that their is a different product more suitable for your skin, then I will of course change products to achieve the best result for your individual needs.

Are strip lashes included with the makeup?

*

Strip lashes are included for the bride only. If any other guests would like lashes they are welcome to purchase them from me or alternatively bring their own which I will apply free of charge. If you are using your own lashes please ensure they are of good quality with a thin band to allow for an easy application.

Do I need to book the artist a room?

*

I will only need a room booked the night before your wedding if you are getting married outside of London or abroad and I am not able to get there guaranteed for our agreed start time. Some brides also prefer to book a separate room for the bridal party to get ready in and have their makeup applied however this is down to the individual. If you have a small room with a large bridal party, I would suggest a separate room for a more comfortable wedding morning as it tends to get very hot quite quickly.

Can I add someone into the bridal party last minute?

*

Last minute additions are at the discretion of the artist dependent on time available. The client will be charged at the time for the service received. Partial applications are not available.

How long is the trial?

*

A trial lasts between 1-2 hours for the bride; if additional guests would like a trial, I would schedule an additional hour for each client. Please refrain from having more than 1 person at your trial, unless they are also having a trial.

What do you need to set up on the wedding morning?

*

I need a large table with plug sockets nearby. I always bring an extension cable with me on all jobs so 1 socket is enough.

Is there a discount on group bookings?

*

Unfortunately I am unable to reduce costs for group bookings. Dependent on numbers and start times I may need to charge for an assistant. More applications also means more time hence why there isn’t a discount offered.

Can you cover tattoos?

*

Yes, trials are recommended for colourful or large tattoos. I used correctors and Airbrush makeup to cover tattoos as these are waterproof formulas.

Do you travel for weddings?

*

I travel within the UK as well as abroad. For destination weddings the client will have to cover transport, hotel and food expenses for the duration of my stay. I only require to be there the day before the wedding unless the bride is having an evening ceremony in which case I can arrive in the morning and will not need a room booked.

Do you recommend lash extensions?

*

I have a love hate relationship with lash extensions. From the bride’s perspective I understand why they are favourable as you are able to wear them for a long period of time which usually falls into the honeymoon period. As a makeup artist it can be frustrating working with lashes as the shadow can catch in the curl of the lashes and it can be tricky to clean thoroughly as no oil can be used. By no means is this a reason to not get them, but it’s good to be aware of. Lastly, ensure that the lashes are installed by a experienced technician as unfortunately many extensions are badly applied and in turn cause damage to your natural lashes.

What products do you use?

*

I use a range of brands in my kit such as MAC, Illamasqua, Chanel, Airbase, Bobbi Brown, YSL, Inglot, Nars, Charlotte Tilbury and many more. All the products in my kit have been rigorously tested in different capacities. I don’t have a favourite brand as I believe the best makeup is achieved with a variety of the best products from a range of companies.

Can young teenagers have their makeup done and what is the cost for this?

*

As long as their guardian is happy for their makeup to be done professionally I am happy to do so. There is not a reduced cost for teenagers as they would be having a full face application either natural or glam.
